It’s Inspiration Tuesday!

This beautiful epic piece is a sweeping instrumental that rouses one to action. Stating with violins.  Its melody grabs one by the spirit in a cacophony of chorals, and horns.

Soon one is immersed in the heroic epic.  You walk in triumph.  There may be struggle  but there will be no defeat.  for nothing shall stand before you.  No power, no principality  no tribulation.  There is nothing that can stop you.  You are a pillar of the Earth, and shall not be moved.

The music featured is taken from Audiomachine – Pillars Of Earth (Kevin Rix – 2013) “Millennium”

I’ve been absent this past week. Real life beckoned and I needed a slight break. But I’m back and so is the epic music. Entitled Homecoming by Thomas Bergersen, its a powerful piece that is simply beautiful to the ear.

The piece opens with flutes and violins. Its a crescendo of bells and minor vocals, as horns raise to thunderous applause of praise. The Heroes have come home. Victorious in battle, and triumphant.

This piece also inspired me to write a novel. Look for it one day. Hutari is the name.

In the meantime, enjoy!

Every Tuesday I try to post some of the most beautiful pieces of music to inspire and enthrall.  Because I know that “music makes you braver”.

This weeks piece is a short tune that had simply an epic feel to it.  When I listen to it I image great desert kingdoms, and royal palaces and landscapes that when one zooms out paints a picture of lands that stretch for miles as one views from mountains or far away heights.

This piece is entitled Heaven and Earth by Sonic Symphony.  Enjoy!

It’s not often that I get the opportunity to showcase not just a great piece of epic music, but how I’ve personally interpreted the music use in my own work.  The music is from David Edwards The Age Of Man (Fringe Element Trailer Series Epic Choral Action).

It’s a powerful sweeping piece that starts off in a brooding somber tone then quickly ramps up the tempo until there’s nothing left but a pounding crescendo that marches over and over.  Only to end in shrill high pitched choral ‘screams’.

In launching my Kickstarter campaign I used this music to create the self made trailer for my novel, The Third Heaven: The Rise of Fallen Stars.  When you view the trailer you feel the launch away from the planet as you journey to the realm where God and the angels live.  The Third Heaven.  I don’t think a more beautiful and powerful  piece of music could better create the feel that I was trying to convey here.

What do you think do you agree?

Are there any pieces of music that inspire you?  Particularly to write?

P.S.   The Third Heaven: The Rise of Fallen Stars needs your support on KickStarter! With only 29 days left, can you help me succeed??? Would you help spread the word? Help back me if you have a little extra cash laying around!

It’s Inspiration Tuesday…one day later than normal. :-)

Because I know that music makes your braver this inspirational piece comes from Audio Machines Helios Album.  Entitled Sol Invictus.  It’s a powerful piece of instrumental music.

Violens parade in symphony, bowing as the snare drum causally makes its presence known, each pounding and rumbling echoes deeper and deeper in a royal march that opens the curtain of ones mind to reach what is a choral finish that ascends and rises to reveal a triumphant ending deserving of any hero.

It is a great piece of epic music.

Because I know music makes your braver. Today’s inspirational song is a piece from the Audiomachine’s Warlords.

A powerful piece, that invokes images of battle and shouts with the cries of combat. It stirs you to march towards that which you fear, or to purposes that will not to be denied.

If you need to muster up the courage to move forward. Take this song as your clarion call to action and know no fear.

Battle on warrior. Battle on, and know that nothing shall stop them that believe.

Because I know music makes your braver. Today’s inspirational song is a piece from the Fringe Element Series by David Edwards.

It starts in a majestic introduction that lifts you up in a spirit of royalty, and or sweeps you into a mood of tragedy where onlookers view vast destruction. Slowly it ramps as the female vocal echos as a ghost in the background. Its continued march to the same melody crescendos until it hits its peak when at the end. The reveal is finally complete.

It’s a sweeping, beautiful epic piece.

OK today for inspiration Tuesday I want to do something a little different.  The video is the trailer for the video game Mass Effect 3.  The final game in a space trilogy that was released for the Xbox 360 last year.  I’ve played this game and to talk about how immersive an experience it was would be an understatement.  I WAS commander Shepherd and I was saving the freaking galaxy!

For the purposes of our blog today, I want you to take a look at each scene in the video.  Each is actual footage or a rendered scene from the game.  Now imagine these as scenes in your novel.  Listen to the video again, this time without the music.  Does it have the same impact for you?  Probably not.  Because music moves us on a level that images do not.

Take any given scene, and write several paragraphs describing what you see.  Now add one paragraph that takes the story in any direction you want.

Note the variety in all the scenes, there’s love making, death, alien armadas, ground action.  Does your novel contain such scenes.  Listen to the dialogue.  Someone had to write it for the video game.  What dialogue would you change?  What would you add to each snippet of action you see?

It’s inspiration Tuesday ladies and gentlemen, and this is how we roll.

Because I know music makes your braver.  Today’s inspirational song is a piece by Audiomachine, that evokes, sheer power.  From the violins in the begining, to the pounding of the drums, and choir vocals.  It beats power, a sense of epic battle, and triumph and victory.

It starts with rushing violins, which are soon locked in raced only to be followed with a powerful drum beat. The meoldy then crescendos into a higher pitch until it pulses with pounding horns of annunciation   It grabs you, and does not let go.

Listen, write…and do not stop until you have conquered every jot and title, never yielding until each character is splayed before you fallen to the muse of your spirit and your paper bleeds with imagined Heroes, worlds and evil slain.

Because I know that music makes you braver, and evokes emotion in a person. I will weekly list a track that moves me. I’m going to ask you to do the same. What music moves you to write, evokes emotion? Inspires you…to write. Create.

This sweeping, powerful melody, beckons one to take up arms, to grasp for the dream that seemed so formerly out of touch. With a female vocal, it quickly inspires you to stand and fight, it calls you to rise up and in the face of fear, know that nothing is impossible and that our time of freedom has come!
